Why donate — How we use funds and how we keep them accountable
VividAshram is a community-rooted sanctuary focused on practical wellbeing: classical yoga, Ayurvedic care and local outreach. Donations allow us to run essential social programs that cannot be sustained by program fees alone: free medical camps, subsidised herbal kits for low-income families, schooling support for children, and the ongoing cost of maintaining a safe residential space for those in need.
Where donations are allocated
We allocate contributions according to three broad buckets to keep impact direct and measurable:
Practical examples of impact
- ₹500 — medicines and basic supplies for roughly 8–12 subsidised clinic visits (bulk purchase reduces cost).
- ₹2,000 — a basic herbal support kit for a low-income family (small-batch syrup/tonic + guidance sheet).
- ₹10,000 — food, medicines and support for an elder resident for 7–10 days.
Receipt, verification & reporting
After you donate, our system logs the transaction (JSON and optional DB insertion). We manually verify UPI TXNs when provided and then issue an email receipt with a Donation ID. We also maintain an annual community report summarising income and program expenditure (high-level categories, not personal donor data). For larger institutional donations we can provide more detailed documentation (sanitised supplier invoices, batch notes) following an email request to info@vividashram.com.
Privacy & donor data policy
We collect minimal donor data necessary to issue receipts: name, email, amount, payment method, and optional txn_id. Donor emails are used only for receipts and occasional program updates (if you opt in). We never sell donor data; full privacy details are available on our Privacy Policy page.
Refunds & dispute resolution
If a donor requests a refund for a genuine payment error, please contact us at info@vividashram.com with Donation ID and proof of payment. For UPI disputes we will work with you and the paying bank to resolve situations; because donations are often used immediately for direct relief, refunds may be subject to review.
Governance & independent checks
We maintain basic internal controls: separate sign-off for supplier purchases over a threshold, batch notes for medicines, and annual review of finances by an external reviewer (summary available to donors on request). If you are an institutional donor requiring more formal independent audits, contact us and we will discuss options for formal reporting and Memoranda of Understanding.
Volunteer & in-kind support
Donations are one way to help; we also accept volunteer time, educational materials, seeds for the herb garden, and in-kind kitchen supplies. See the Contact page to propose in-kind contributions or to enquire about volunteer placements.
Important: VividAshram is not a registered charity for tax-exempt donations (unless otherwise specified on this page). If you require a tax-deductible receipt, please mention this in your message and we will advise based on current registration status.
